Renovation of Iperindo Community Secondary School
Education is one of Segilola Resources Operating Limited’s (SROL’s) key focus areas in our corporate social responsibility (CSR) and community development agreement (CDA) initiatives. This is because we value the benefits and rewards that come from adequately and intentionally investing in younger generations. It is with this in mind, that SROL decided to give a facelift to the Iperindo Community Secondary School.
The students’ excitement at the commissioning of the renovated school blocks at the Iperindo Community Secondary School was contagious! We could tell that the facelift is something they have wanted for a long time, and we were happy to have been able to provide this for the students. To enhance their learning environment, SROL:
- renovated 3 school blocks,
- constructed standard toilet systems,
- constructed a borehole system, and
- provided classroom furniture.
These amenities will help to create a more conducive learning environment, and ensure that the students remain focused while receiving lectures.
SROL has continued conducting its scholarship programme for bright minds from disadvantaged and vulnerable backgrounds to promote education in the surrounding communities, and to ensure that no child is left out of school. The company also intends to equip the laboratory at the Iperindo Community Secondary School with top-notch equipment and accessories next year.
Our efforts towards fostering education in our surrounding communities is a testament of our mission to empower communities, and contribute our quota to human capacity development.
