Day 3 Nigeria Mining Week 2023

The Nigerian Mining Week continued into its third day, and on this day, SROL had two significant engagements.

In the first engagement, SROL's Country Manager, Mr. Austin Menegbo, delivered a presentation on the status of the Segilola Gold Mine as part of a session focused on Nigeria's Most Prominent Exploration and Mining Projects. During this presentation, Mr. Menegbo provided insights into the project's current status, its production performance in 2022, its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance, as well as the key success drivers. The presentation was concise and informative, capturing the audience's full attention.

For SROL's second engagement on Day 3, Mr. David Mbrekpadiaha, the HSE Coordinator for Environment at SROL, represented the company in a panel discussion titled "POSITIONING NIGERIA AS A SUSTAINABLE MINING DESTINATION." He was joined by Engr Obadiah Nkom, the Director-General of the Mining Cadastre Office, and Oyenike Saulawa, Chairperson of Sybil Mining. The panel discussed various aspects of mining, including health and safety, artisanal mining, and carbon emission reduction.

Mr. Mbrekpadiaha highlighted SROL's innovative and progressive approaches to carbon emission reduction. He specifically mentioned SROL's transition from diesel to compressed natural gas (CNG) for power generation, with the continued use of CNG expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 53%. Additionally, SROL is actively implementing various other initiatives to enhance its operations and sustainability.

These engagements on the third day of the Nigerian Mining Week further underscore SROL's commitment to responsible mining and sustainable practices.
