Overview:
Segilola Resources Operating Limited (SROL), operator of Nigeria’s first commercial gold mine and a subsidiary of Thor Explorations Ltd., concluded 2025 with a large-scale community-focused initiative: a Christmas celebration for its host communities in Osun State. The event, held on December 20th at Iperindo town hall, brought festive cheer to over 2,000 children and their families. Organized in collaboration with SINIC Engineering and GBfoods, the celebration included music, games, performances, and gift distributions, creating a vibrant, family-friendly environment.

Beyond the festive event, SROL sponsored public space beautification projects in Oshogbo, contributed to the Iwude Festival celebrating Ijesha culture, and engaged in year-round initiatives in economic empowerment, healthcare, youth development, and community infrastructure.

Project Impact:

• Community Engagement: Reached over 2,000 children and families, strengthening bonds and fostering unity.
• Economic Empowerment: Delivered business and digital skills training to over 200 women and supported farmers through the Livelihood Restoration Programme (LRP) with high-yield cocoa and oil palm seedlings.
• Healthcare Support: Provided medical resources to more than 3,000 residents and launched SegunCare for chronic condition support.
• Cultural Support: Sponsored major community events like the Iwude Festival and public infrastructure beautification.
